Disagree. Their UNIVERSAL DESIGN PHILOSOPHY [read:engineering] is to create a sale and maximize income derived there-from.
Marketing trumps Engineering.
Factors such as reliability are addresses only if they will have an direct effect upon sales income.

IF cars [read: any product] lasted forever it would give rise to a new department called "Unreliability Engineering". Not needed since the laws of science [read:God] dictate a natural wear-out of all materials.
