"Not even remotely a long distance car unless you wear a helmet."
Many of the Stalker owners take them on extended trips.
One of them just posted photos of a month long trip
visiting all 48 states. I believe Dennis Brunton put
something like 80k miles on chassis #1.
Over 150 of them have been built to date.

I have driven one on the. Road and at Silverstone. Basically a go cart. Like an AC Cobra incredibly uncomfortable with wind pressure and noise over 40 mph. Not even remotely a long distance car unless you wear a helmet. An Elise is far more civilised. Used Caterhams are pretty cheap and readily available here. Could you import a used one to the USA even if in parts to avoid the rules? Look on pistonheads and eBay.co.uk ...
Short term track car and wonderful for point and shoot events. A Sunday drive gets pretty tiring but then my 6foot so if you are short maybe you fit better but the lack of a proper screen and side windows really will wear you down if the sun burn and wind burn doesn't !
