Always have. They bounce around on car names all the time, starting I think when they switched from the "cc per cylinder" convention to "liters and number of cylinders" for the 512BB. 

The quirkiness is part of the charm!

I must be missing something. I thought it was 4.8L, 8 cyl.

Same with 458. I thought it was 4.5L, 8 cyl. I never really checked. I took it for granted that's what it was. Like the 308, 328, 348, etc.

So, why 458 and 488 ?
