I'll go with that theory!

Sent from my ATT Bell Rotary Dial Phone Cinzano.... Lots of Cinzano.
Yet! 😉
Hey, the 488 is a whole lot better than the "Enzo" and the LaFerrari! The LaFerrari name in particular must have been drug induced or maybe it was a late night planning session joke by Montezemolo and the product manager took it seriously.
How else could you explain that name?
John
Sent from my ATT Bell Rotary Dial Phone Nawwwww. They haven't come with an electric SUV. DOUG
Sent from my iPhone I test my case. I've decided that Ferrari, as a company, has ADD.
For the new turbo GTB, Ferrari went
back to it's displacement per cylinder
designation. Like the 250, 275, 330, etc...
488cc x 8 = 3,904 cc.
(The engine is actual 3,902 cc)
Since the new car is replacing the 458
Italia (4.5 liter), I sure they wanted to use a larger number designation for
marketing, rather than a smaller one (398 GTB)

Subject: [Ferrari] Why name it 488
?
I must be missing something. I thought it was
4.8L, 8 cyl.
Same with 458. I thought it was 4.5L, 8 cyl. I
never really checked. I took it for granted that's what it was. Like the 308,
328, 348, etc.
So, why 458 and 488 ?
