Clyde, Forgive my naivete. When you say that there are no “air bag computers” available, are you referring to the air bag ECUs? If you are, I know of a few dealers who list the ECUs in their parts inventory. Replacement air bags appear to be more difficult. No replacements are listed by USA dealers. I am pursuing with Ferrari Spa in Maranello. So, what happens if the air bag computer cannot be replaced in a 550/575? Obviously, the air bags become non-functional……but……..what are the consequences? Can a 575M with no air bag computer still be started and driven? Are there registration and/or insurance issues? Again, forgive my ignorance. I own both a 1985 TR and a 2005 575M….Lately, both it seems, have been taking some negative hits on the List. Personally, I think they are great cars…for different reasons….and I greatly enjoy driving both.....which makes the recent bad press just that much more difficult for me to understand. Regards, Dick Petrick |
