Autel has a bewildering assortment of scanners, and an hour studying
their website will leave you more confused than when you started.

Having said that, it seems their tools generally have a good
reputation.  I'm looking at the MaxiCheck MX808, which is (I
think.....) a cheaper version of the MaxiSys line.  Not really sure
what functionality the MX808 is missing, but it seems a decent budget
alternative.  I just wish the Autel website explained things more
clearly.

I have the Autel MaxiSys and while it's quite expensive, it's pretty good
and has sections for all of the exotics. It won't do everything an SD-x
machine will do, but I've successfully communicated with a variety of
systems on an F430 and my Vanquish and several Porsches, along with a lot of
more pedestrian stuff. It also does annual and monthly updates to keep up
with manufacturer ECU/software changes.
