Not so "Old Yeller". Also a Disneyland nature show I saw back in the early
1960s in which a mother mountain lion trying to do something heroic to save
her cubs fell and broke her back... seriously tragic  and traumatising to
young kids and definitely no "happy" ending there...

Funny aside there. The original Grimm Fairy Tales- well, we all know the
stories, but the endings ...  Hansel and Gretel, they get eaten by the
witch - lesson, don’t go wandering off in the woods.

They ALL end up bad in the original.  Was apparently a very American thing
to change them to “happy” endings.
