Have you scaled your Euro car by any chance?

So maybe that's a starting point. Wheels for sure could be lighter. Did they put an A/C compressor and all those associated components back in? If not, there's some. Where do you guys think the 110 or so lbs weight loss came from?
The Columbo V12 is huge and there is a lot of extra weight in fluids over the stock V8.
I am guessing there were plenty of items that were left off after the conversion like cats, mufflers, airbox, etc.
The larger wheels and tires also added bulk although Bob Bondurant tested the car at Sears Point with favorable chassis feedback.
Matt B, Peter R, or any of you 308 experts with insight on this?
It was dumb then as it is now It would be like putting a PT -6 turbine on a P-51 mustang!

I have a copy of that 308 V12 conversion manual.
It was feasible back then as the donor V-12 engines were “reasonably” priced. Now though, it wouldn’t make sense. There was a Daytona V-12 engine for sale on Hemmings a few months ago – used as a display piece, so who knows why it was taken
out of a car – and they were asking $110K...
Although, it’s a great reference for the process and could be adapted using a modern 12 (like from a 456 or 550).

400hp and they kept the weight down to 3140 lbs.
