Luke,

You are an inspiration and I hate you for it!  I love eggs and coffee.  I really tried to have hope on the coffee but I could no longer deny the reality.  It kills me.  The eggs are still hit or miss.  Not sure why.  It could be cheese.  I may be ok if I don't combine them.  And, damn, I do love cheese.  And tomatoes are becoming questionable.  Either that or gluten.  So, yeah, being Italian and not being able to eat Pasta or cheese or drink coffee sucks.  So far, only coffee is a clear no no.  I remain hopeful on the others but I am sure it is only a matter of time before the list grows.  On burgers, I really like Beyond Beef.  I may like them more than beef burgers.

Anthony, Coffee is good for you!  So are eggs.  I eat a poached egg on toast every morning.  Try Veggie Burgers.  The Impossible Whopper at Burger King all the way is best.  I only eat no nos (Rib Eyes Ice Cream, Cookies) once a month or less.  About 50 % of my Diet now is Plant based, plenty of Fruits and Veggies.  I smoke a Cigar now and then, but, don't inhale; never smoked cigarettes.  My worst habit is that I drink too much wine!  I swim 500 meters at speed, 3 times a week.  Hand and eye coordination still excellent.  I'm 86+.  Don't drive the 360 over 150 anymore, however!

My body keeps telling me what not to eat.  I have cut WAY back on anything not chicken or fish.  Coffee is out now too.  Dairy and eggs are next.

Most of the rust removal systems are 1um fiber lasers.  A 10.6um CO2 laser would actually do a great job at cooking.  Very efficient.  You apply thermal energy directly to the surface of the meat.  And you could monitor the surface temperature with a thermal camera (with a 10.6um blocking filter).  I bet you could determine the optimal surface temperature profile versus time and control the CO2 laser to nail it every time.
