Never, ever, give wiring instructions to your bank account to someone you do
not trust or do not trust them to keep it safe.  I think banks should offer
a one-time account for use in situations like this.

Once that account number plus the bank ABA information is out there, it can
be used to write what are called demand drafts as I recall, which are
essentially payee requested checks from *your account*.

There was an article about such things last year or so.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7914159/ has it and a site where you could go
and automatically get demand drafts, given only the account and ABA numbers!
Thankfully, that site is gone (qchex.com) but I would bet there are others.
