Larry, If I remember correctly (and that's a BIG "if"), get a Letter of Credit from his bank. I think that's one of the ways we used to do it back in the '80s and early '90s when I was working in the International Dept. at Cooper Aviation Supply Co. Or, alternatively, call your bank and ask for the appropriate person in their International Dept. Even if that's not what they call it, you should end up talking to someone who deals with International payments on a somewhat regular basis, and, what with it being Your bank and all, they should be able to advise you on a safe payment method from your Croatian customer.
