When I was a young teen, the thing that impressed me most about the Ferrari was the smell of the leather! (looking like it was moving while parked was my first impression as a kid) I learned to appreciate how leather covered everything in the interior. To my untrained eye at the time, little details started to become apparent on what made Ferrari special. I remember test driving a Bently Turbo R. Jumping back into my then new to me 750iL made it feel cheap. I always let people who have doubts about what's the big deal about Euro luxury cars drive one of mine. My cousin who was all over his WRX always made fun about how slow my 5 spd 525i was. When I let him drive it to, at and from an Ice Autocross one year, he wanted to get a BMW. Of course it had to be one much faster than mine at the time. He finally believed me about my comments how is car is cheap feeling even though it was fast as hell (not stock). Speed is nice to have but not the most important. If you can afford both, well the better! I think the way alcohol in Europe is distilled/processed must be the difference in the craftsman ship we enjoy in our cars that we share in common! (lack of washing hands maybe? Not washing the feet when crushing grapes? LOL) Rodney In a message dated 12/30/2006 1:08:30 A.M. I drove another clients 2007 Cadillac Escalade back to his house after a detail and was equally unimpressed with that interior. But that thing is FAST for a big SUV. Hell, it was fast for a small car! Great exhaust note too. Brian
