I kinda agree... but their is "cost of ownership" and then their is "cost of 
ownership"!

It can vary so wildly that I think it is something to consider...

For me for example, the service costs on a newish Ferrari would be to much 
for me...
And if I had bought badly then the repair costs on my 308GTB might have been 
a struggle...

But I was aware of the "costs" and made the right choice of car for me with 
that information.

Cost of ownership was a consideration for me because I wanted to be able to 
enjoy the car and not struggle to afford to keep it going.
