Lest anyone forget, up until the modern era (Bernie-marketing) of F1, Le Mans was still the top of the heap when it came to international motorsports. Its time will come again, most of the true racing applications that end up in road cars come from endurance racing anyway, F1 cars are only designed to last about 7 hours now...
