Peter, I paid $29k for our Land Rover two years ago.
It's value now is about $15k for a loss, not counting
$500 is services, of about $7k per year.

My SL500 was also $29k just under three years ago.
Sold it for $12k after investing $6000 in repairs.
That's about $8k per year.

I know that is not what you were originally talking
about but if one considers total out-of-pocket...a
Ferrari that holds its value doesn't look so bad.

As for the 456 vs 550, I have heard nothing but bad
about the 456 and nothing but good about the 550.
Strange that. Also, look at the value of a 456 versus
time and you'll see a chart worse that our stock
market! I looked at this because I considered a 456
for a while. Ended up keeping my 308GTB and buying a
new M-B C300. Forza uh... Ferrari!

:-P
