Does it have a usb port anywhere?  if yes, you may be able to hook up to a 
laptop
or something - won't hurt to try -

My Cable box has a USB port but I haven't tried to hook it up to anything --

It might take a litle whie depending on the software you use - Nero, etc - 
but recording a 1 hr show usually takes more than an hour -
