Larry,

Even if you feel like you could do without HD in whatever you record,
what you must also realize is that everything basically flows through
your DVR or Tivo.  You have the ability to pause live TV and such
because it basically is recording it all as it goes along, buffering
it for you.  So you would never see HD again as long as you have
everything going through the DVR (if you don't have an HD DVR/Tivo.
