Yo Tom - then how about Kurtis Kraft, or Watson Roadster, or the Epperly
Offy. Now that's about as 'merican cigar chomping as you can get. From
1950 to 1960 there were tons of Merican drivers and cars - some, like Roger
Ward even raced at the US GP at Sebring F1 race in his "Indy" car.
SO - every year above the Indy winner was classified as an F1 winner with championship points. These guys finished in the final standings of F1 those years 8th or 9th .
Now if the article guy sez, 1966 or later - - - - well, then, ok.DOUG
