There comes a point where the costs to develop such cars simply can't be justified. Most are made at a loss. I read the BUG costs about 5 mil per copy to make, but they get their return on that loss from the attention the car brings to the company. Ferrari probably didn't make much on the Enzo and I would think, most likely lost on it to, Still being quite recent, look at that car. Many of the latest materials were used, 800 or so hp, and it still ended up being a big heavy boat with a top end not a whole not more than a standard M5 with the limiter removed. The 430, stripped of a few hundred pounds even does better times around the test track. I think the F1 was built at a loss too, but again, ppl are still talking about it today, so it brought the company the attention it wanted. Everything on the F1 was purpose made, including the radio and ac system with weight in mind. There is no easy way to build a hyper car these days. They all, including the BUG have to pass so many checks, and get so many political nods before they ever come to be, we should all be very thankful any such cars even make it to production these days.
