Re: Official Announcement FOTA pulling out of F1

Hi Hans,
Evidently things have changed - but at one time I recall Bernie refused to allow active F1 drivers to participate in other series - threatened them with a loss of their locense. Perhaps his mind is on other things at the moment. ;-)

I recall reading he moved some event dates to conflict. OK, I'll grant you Bourdais - but that's 1 out of a whole bunch. Lots of prior F1 drivers though - along with the sons of several F1 drivers of past - Senna, Prost and Nigel progeny were at Le Mans.

Hopefully F1 drivers are well integrated into other series - most sincerely love to drive anything & everything and getting paid to drive is something they truely enjoy.

Thanks for helping me with what's happpening presently in F1 - I seldom pay attention anymore.

Huh? Bourdais drove in this year's LeMans, as did at least a couple
of factory test drivers (Gene, for one).

And Kimi drives in some rallies and the occasional ice race.
Many of the other drivers also have "hobby" racing series that
they participate in as well.

Hans.

Now, Bernie will only allow the driver to drive in F1 - probably because
he doesn't get paid when they drive elsewhere.

Yeah, it was interesting to hear Monaco's response. Of course, Ferrari
is
the home grown favorite at Monaco and I guess it might be considered
the Ferrari hometrack. If you don't count Monza ;-\

I wonder what Monza will do? They're scheduled for Sept 11-13.
