I like some of the ideas.  But, some of the rules are to help contain costs, or give that perception anyway.  hee hee.  1/ would see every team running their own "zip fuels", as they did a couple of decades ago, and prices to develop and make them, would soon go through the roof.  2/  I think the monocoques are pretty much there now, or could be.  The problem isn't a lack of protection, but rather the body not being able to survive certain angles of impact, or more to the point, the deceleration they produce.  I think it's been proven the body can take about 80 Gs of decel, if in really good shape, and for fractions of a second.  But as we all know, that figure goes up exponentially with speed.  Easy to make the tub stronger, but the old human bod can only take so much banging about.  3/  That could make for some very interesting pit stops....come tire change time.  I like it.

How about only having three basic rules?

1) you are allowed 'x' liters of whatever fuel you want to use per race
2) the monocoque must protect a driver from a 250mph crash
3) minimum of four wheels (no maximum)

Everything else is up to the team. i.e.  ground effects, turbos, number of cylinders....

Ah HAH - just like the old Formula Mondial.  Heck - those guys were only 2 or 3 seconds a lap off of F1 at Long Beach.

Hello,
How about requiring all F1 engines and transmissions to be sourced from street cars which are no more than 3 years old and were produced in quantities above 500 per year? Internal parts could be changed except for block, heads and crankshaft. Otherwise open formula.
That would make F1 relate to street driving very much.
          Just my thoughts
