The problem isn't a lack of protection, but rather the body not being able to survive certain angles of impact, or more to the point, the deceleration they produce. I think it's been proven the body can take about 80 Gs of decel, if in really good shape, and for fractions of a second. But as we all know, that figure goes up exponentially with speed. Easy to make the tub stronger, but the old human bod can only take so much banging about. 3/ That could make for some very interesting pit stops....come tire change time. I like it. |
