Wait, so 80-89 SCs but with the cam tensioner upgrade? What about the 915 box? Shouldn't I go for the "better" G50?
I'm confused!

LS â ya bring up some valid points. There is a block of Porsche cars to go after for years of fun free driving (and for a tidy little stable investment â do the Carrera or SC) go after these:
1 â 1980 thru 89 911 SCâs and Carreraâs (the 78 and 79 SCâs donât have the TWC and still have an air pump and EGR to meet tough US emissions standards); and,
2 â 2010 to 2012 997âs.
Thatâs it. Of course at the other end of the spectrum is 1976 911 with factory thermo reactors still in place. BUWHAhahahahaha

PS â Alas, the pressurized chain tensioner is NOT the answer to the chain tensioner problem. The answer is updating to newer (930.105.509 & 510)Chain wheel supports.

120k before a rebuild sounds early unless it was raced.
What about the pre '83 cam chain tensioner issues? 915 gearbox industrialism? Now, RMS and IMS?
Great cars, but not for their "engineering".
