Not to defend Charlie Whiting, but the FIA and the teams have to shoulder some of the blame, Charlie get the most press because he is the one that enforces THEIR rules.

The smaller teams that have the deep pockets like the restrictions unless they are the one using what is protested.

I like most of you would prefer the return to real racing, bring back quailfying  engines, spare car, special fuel, active suspension, full aero, get rid of the legality plank.......

But then it would mean a return to follow the leader.

There have been some great races this year among team mates like that never happened .. hmm there was Prost and Senna.

Get real the last race is DOUBLE POINTS, has this become a video game ( the constructers voted for that one.)

I much preferred yesteryear when the formula was Wheelbase, Weight and Displacement...  You got to see the 4 cylinder Climax motor and the BRM H16.

Now Charlie Whiting has such anal obsession with "moveable areodynamic devices" that he shoots down any innovation before it comes to maturity.   I'm sorry, Renault's "mass damper" should have been allowed and refined.  I think it would have been a great innovation for road cars.  Moveable wings, hell yes.  Active suspension, Absolutely!!  bring on the TECHNOLOGY.

Chant with me: "I hate Charlie WhitingI hate Charlie Whiting, I hate Charlie Whiting..."

Hi Rick,

Over the last 15 years or so, yes. Not sure about before. And they are only moving one way!
