It was cool what GTO stood for......its literal translation, and of course how it sounded as a moniker in English. Surely that's what made Pontiac copy it.
But holding Ferrari to have to make a "homologated grand tourer" in order to slap on a GTO in the modern day is a bit much IMHO considering we'll probably never ever see another homologated racing series again. Maybe if Ferrari created a special car just for ALMS or LeMans and then sold it on the street it could work.....but that doesn't seem likely.
It's just a new era.
Grateful we have Pagani around.
