FG observes: “Just an observation. I prefer it over paddles, and my gut is rarely wrong with this stuff.” Most cars with some sort of automatic transmission have the paddles AND a shifter. I’ve driven both in auto crossing. When I us the paddles - - - I make a hash out the run. Where am I? What gear? Where was I? oh boy another turn. SO – that said – I prefer the console shifter. Yeah yeah yeah – same same AND I only have one hand on the steering wheel. But for my right side brain (left?) I seem to be able to keep track of what gear I’m in – just the way it is - - - - with this gray haired old racer. I wonder what Jim Hall would say? DOUG |
