Brian,
Greatly appreciate the advice, which effectively touches on two of my greatest concerns about selling either way (i.e., privately or to a dealer): perhaps main downside of selling to a dealer is that I would likely pay dearly for that easy, convenient solution,
in the form of a discount from eventual sales price to the eventual buyer, whereas if I go through the hassle of an attempted private sale myself (as you and Lash have suggested) I might have to field endless questions -- and deal with supposed buyers who
are not really qualified and serious but simply curious and maybe hoping to ride in the car.

Larry if you don't mind having a really good detail done and taking 150 or so really good pics you can sell it yourself ... cars.com, autotrader, carsforsale.com, hemmings.com and about 20 other free sites. You'll want to post a really good, informative writeup so you aren't answering the same questions 100x. My guess is if you sell the car to a dealer you're going to receive $20k or so less than retail value. 1. they have to make money to support their facilities, 2. they will put some money into the car, because there is *always* something
to do to a Ferrari, and to any used car, to prepare them for retail sale. 3. a dealer can probably get more for the car than you can because they are a dealer, they can offer financing and warranties and make buyers feel more comfortable with full inspections
and reputation. See if some dealers in your area will consign. That may benefit you both. -- Brian E.
