Okay, seeing as the topic has gone sideways a bit, when you’re in the UK, there’s lots of car stuff to do and a place I really enjoyed visiting was the Beaulieu Motor Museum (first word pronounced “bee-you-lee”). An eclectic collection of cars.

When I went in 2001, I stopped at Superformance UK to pick up parts for my 308. That was back when Mike ran the place. Fun time... Was nice enough to write up a fake invoice with lower prices so I wouldn’t get nailed with duties/taxes if my suitcase got checked (and believe me, I stuffed it with loads of parts)! If you’re there, you might as well go and pick up what you need. Also visited Caterham Cars “factory” but I believe they’ve since closed that place... Silverstone and the old Brooklands (before it became Mercedes World) were also memorable stops.

Hi all,

I have the pleasure of exploring London and Rome with my 19yo son March 12 – 20, and threw a hail mary factory tour request.  We are attending the Manchester United game on the 15th, do you have any suggestions for cool/offbeat things to experience in either the London/Manchester, Rome area?

Thanks a million!

Mark
