With the CAFE legislation making its way toward the President that requires
35mpg by 2012 (?? that year may be wrong) the Vette may be in trouble
already - unless they can still sell them because the other cars in the
fleet exceed the reqmnts or perhaps a gas guzzler tax can be paid?
I wonder what the ramifications for small car makers lie Ferrari and Lambo will be? Or will they be included with their parent company like Audi in the case of Lambo?
I know, Dennis, I shoud Google this question. Fact is I prefer the lists opinion to Google &.Wiki., etc ;-p

My guess, Clyde, is that the car will be a loss-leader. They will sell a few to bolster the failing GM name, enter them in Le Mans and other endurance races and hope for some good press. Just guessing, obviously...

I feel that marketing a car at the $100-120k level from GM is a huge mistake. Most individuals who have this type of disposable income for a car will go elsewhere. The performance is there but the market share is not for a car of this cost. If you have 6 figure money to spend on a car you're not going to buy a Corvette! After all you have an image to maintain and spending 6 figures on a Corvette doesn't do anything for that image! When you show up at the fancy restaurant and there is only one spot up front to park in and you are in your Corvette ZR-1 and the other guy has the real Enzo,( that the brakes where lifted from) plan to get your feeling hurt.
