I believe the diode board is in the alternator it self. The automotive electric >repair shop that did the rebuild last fall tried to blame it on a >circuit fault in the instrument panel that caused an over current >drain. That is impossible. All 3 diodes are subject to the same loading. When a diode fails in that configuration, it is due to a doping anomoly or surface fault from welding flash during lead attach, or from failure of the chip bond to heat sink. While many other isoteric faults are possible, none are related to external circuitry. It isn't the fault of the repair facility unless the regulator required heat sink installation which is of paramount reliability importance. Has anyone done their own 308 alternator regulator replacement and can remember the physical layout and requirements of the job? _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/clyderomero%40worldnet. att.net Sponsored by BidNip.com eBay Auction Sniper http://www.BidNip.com/ and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/ No virus found in this incoming message.
