Larry, focus on the external dimensions and weight of the engine not the displacement!!! That's the point with the 944T. It only had 3.0 liters, but dimensionally it was immense and not so impressive. Modern engines are much smaller and lighter/bhp of output. Well, some modern engines. The BMW inline 6 used in so many models is also huge and heavy. IIRC, a 250 Ferrari is 250cc's per cylinder making it a 3.0L engine. I have a hard time picturing 250CC's but 3L is 50% larger than a 2L Coke bottle. Getting several hundred HP from such a small displacement alwaysed amazed me. Must have been pretty small pistons though.
