But even Ferrari has gone back to timing chains (I believe - I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). But I *KNOW* that my 2010 VW has a timing chain. Although my soon-to-be 2013 VW will have a belt (but it's a diesel, if that makes a difference - lower revving, so probably...). I don't believe there is any one "right" answer. FWIW.
